The Sangscribe

placeholderThe Sangscribe - title card

It's been a while since my last blog post, and I thought it was about time to share this project I've worked on for a little while. People on my social media accounts have seen it first, but I still wanted to write a little bit about it here.

The Sangscribe is a short film I wrote, directed and edited. It's a horror short that tells the story of a witch (in a world inspired by the base lore of the Harry Potter books) who preys on her victims then turns their lifeforce through blood magic into a tattoo on her own body.

There is not much to this story to establish the characters or the world. It was basically done as a proof of concept. I wanted to see if I could make a short film with very limited budget and resources. I did have a lot of fun making it and I learned quite a lot in the process. Definitely planning to make more in the future.

Big thanks to Megan, who played the witch and did an amazing job at it. Also thanks to my friend and fellow filmmaker, Andrew, for helping me out with the production.

I hope you enjoy it, and if you do, please consider sharing it with your friends. It would mean a lot to me.
